Some armaments in Elden Ring will require players to gather Somber Smithing Stones, which they can buy from vendors by acquiring all Somberstone Miner’s Bell Bearings. Each rank of the Miner’s Bell Bearings will unlock two ranks of Somber Smithing Stones, but the last will only unlock rank nine, as the final material required to upgrade an armament fully, the Somber Ancient Dragon Smithing Stone, cannot be repeatedly bought in Elden Ring. The third Miner’s Bell Bearing is the first that is not looted from a boss in Elden Ring but will instead require players to defeat several to get to it.
