I don't see the big deal if someone wants to work more hours. If some students oppose it (looks like 4-5 at the meeting) then run for office and work the hours yourself, otherwise let the people in there do the work they are willing to do. If you look at the pay of Kwantlen student union directors compared to other universities of the same size Kwantlen is underpaid. This is a fact. I say if your willing to put in more hours per week, why not? I'd rather them do it than me! I actually like this Council for making some necessary changes. Too many previous Council members have been shy, timid, or plain ignorant when it comes to challenging the status quo. You only learn how inefficient something is when you see the other side. I heard that the GM from BCIT came in a few weeks ago and completely discredited some policies of the old guard. The old reps were shocked by her comments. She was very critical of the way the place was run and commended the current Council for moving forward in many respects. Good for this Council, we need fresh thinking at Kwantlen! Finally!
