This zero-sum thinking has infected even progressive gender equality organisations, creating false competition between supporting women versus supporting men. Supporters of men and boys’ movements promote this flawed reasoning, misframing women’s economic participation as male displacement rather than systemic policy failure. Some may see the underfunding of women’s organisations and economic progress as isolated ‘women’s issues’.
