The Department of Environmental Protection sounds like an oxymoron. They neither cared nor protected the health, safety and welfare of all those living around the major polluter and contaminate called Wheelabrator. This screams of politics and profiteering, it is disgusting that that State agency charged with protecting the environment is too swayed by money and politics to do the right thing. Shame on them, Wheelabrator and Councillor Zambuto for being in the wrong side of right! Iâ€d like to see CLF file an appeal, at least demand an independent company (selected by residents), hire a water testing company to test what exactly is in discharge of Wheelabratorâ€s output. People are dying all around us of specific cancers without there being a link to the carcinogens being emitted from Wheelabrator. Councillor Zambuto, why donâ€t you offer to pay for the testing with some of the funds youâ€ve been handed?
