SHIPSHEWANA [mdash] Lydia A. Miller, 82, of Shipshewana, (District: 42), died at 3:35 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 10, at her residence. She was born Jan. 7, 1943, in Hutchinson, Kansas, to Albert P. and Gertie (Bontrager) Troyer. On Sept. 30, 1965, in Shipshewana, she married Melvin E. Miller. He died Dec. 24, 1995. Surviving are seven children, Ken (Susie) Miller of Albion, Ernie (Kathryn) Miller of Ligonier, Duane (Carolyn) Miller of Millersburg, Dorothy (John) Miller of Shipshewana, Linda (Devon) Weaver of Middlebury, Gene Miller of Goshen, Kristina (Kenny) Miller of Shipshewana; 22 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three brothers, Harry Troyer of Nebraska, Floyd (Erma) Troyer of Arizona, Ray (Dorothy) Troyer of Shipshewana; three sisters, Mary Kauffman of Topeka, Susie Troyer, Ida Yoder, both of Shipshewana. She was preceded in death by her husband and parents. Lydia was a homemaker and a member of the Old Order Amish Church. Visitation will be after 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 11, at the Levi Bontrager residence, 2775 N. 850 West, Shipshewana. Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 12, at the same residence. Services will be conducted by Bishop Jerry Miller and the home ministers. Burial will be in East Barren Cemetery, Shipshewana. Miller-Stewart Funeral Home, Middlebury, is handling the arrangements.
