(CNS): The National Conservation Council has begun public consultations for two significant areas, a forest area on Grand Cayman and a wilderness area on Cayman Brac’s Bluff, which have both been nominated for Protected Area designation under the National Conservation Act. The first is the Ironwood Forest National Park, the largest remaining area of primary natural habitat in the George Town area, which is home to at least two critically endangered species. This proposal for the Bluff Lighthouse National Park is intended to protect the Bluff formation and its unique species, while keeping the area open for managed public access and recreation.
