Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh on Wednesday called on all individuals possessing illegal weapons in the hills and valley areas of Manipur to surrender them within 15 days, warning that those who fail to comply will face action under the law. The Chief Minister made the appeal while addressing a programme on “Display on the Initiatives towards Bringing Normalcy in Manipur” at the 1st Battalion Manipur Rifles Parade Ground in Imphal. He commended the security teams led by Director General of Police Mukesh Singh, along with senior officials of the Border Security Force, Assam Rifles (South) and CRPF, for recovering a large quantity of arms and ammunition within a short period.
