Agartala, August 12, 2026: Tipra Motha MLA Biswajit Kalai has sought immediate intervention by the police and Agartala Municipal Corporation over the recent eviction of vegetable vendors from Nandan Nagar, near Don Bosco School in Agartala, alleging that the enforcement drive caused distress to economically vulnerable families and involved unauthorised interference by persons who were not part of the official enforcement team. In separate letters addressed to the Superintendent of Police, West Tripura district, and the Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation on Wednesday, Kalai called for an immediate review of the incident and sought measures to rehabilitate the affected vendors.
