Guwahati, Aug 12 — Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has called upon his Arunachal Pradesh counterpart Pema Khandu to initiate a formal inquiry into the recent firing incident along the inter-state border that left several people injured. The incident occurred on Monday in Dhemaji district, where at least 12 residents of Assam sustained injuries after miscreants from Arunachal Pradesh allegedly opened fire during a dispute over land encroachment. Addressing the media, Sarma stressed the importance of maintaining peace and cooperation between the neighboring states, stating, “We should not fight, we should not indulge in conflict.
