The Smart Rental Bonds Scheme will work by notifying renters when a landlord or agent lodges a bond request online. The renter will then log onto Rental Bonds Online and choose to pay their new bond upfront or move their existing bond to the new property for a fee of $25. There are no changes to the current bonds process; agents will continue to notify renters there is a new bond to pay via Rental Bonds Online.
