Not long after Delta Air Lines flight 591 departed Las Vegas for Atlanta on Monday, a member of its flight crew sent a message to the airline reporting a Wi-Fi problem. While Delta’s inflight bandwidth comes at no charge, it’s nowhere near as fast as the Starlink Wi-Fi now offered by such Delta competitors as Alaska Airlines and United Airlines. But after setbacks for Leo that include an on-pad explosion of the biggest rocket booked to launch its satellites, Delta passengers will have to wait longer than the airline’s initial goal of 2028 to see half of its planes upgraded.
