4 Constable’s Office to participate in the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement 287(g) Task Force Program, a move that will give participating deputies authority to perform certain immigration enforcement functions under ICE supervision. The county also could receive reimbursement for salaries of deputy constables while they are performing eligible duties under the agreement. During the discussion, Poston said the other five Liberty County constable offices have also signed agreements related to the program and additional agreements are expected to come before Commissioners Court.
