A suspected getaway vehicle was soon stopped by police on the A590 and the stolen bike was recovered along with other suspected stolen items, police said. A person was later charged with theft following a subsequent investigation by the Neighbourhood Support Team. A spokesperson for South Lakes Police said: "The message to those coming to the lakes to commit crime remains simple – you are not welcome here."
