The Brent Spence Bridge Corridor Project reached a significant construction milestone in July as crews completed the first concrete pour for the foundation of the new companion bridge, marking the start of work on the permanent structures that will support the new span. According to project officials, the first concrete placement is the beginning of construction on the bridge's structural foundation, a key step in delivering the companion span that will eventually operate alongside the existing Brent Spence Bridge. With foundation construction now under way, crews will continue building the permanent support structures that will carry the companion bridge over the Ohio River.
