Indiana State Fair closed due to severe storms, flooding
['Nbc Chicago Staff']
News – NBC Chicago
According to officials, a squall line of severe thunderstorms raced through the Indianapolis area on Wednesday, and the heavy rain has led to flooding on the fairgrounds, forcing the closure of the fair for the remainder of the day. According to the National Weather Service, more than an inch of rain fell in the Indianapolis area within a short period of time on Wednesday, exacerbating the soggy conditions that were present after Tuesday’s severe weather. Severe weather is still possible both Thursday and Friday according to the Storm Prediction Center, with the Indianapolis area at a “marginal” risk of severe storms on both days.
