The Womack Sisters’ Self-Titled Debut Is a Powerful, Soul-Soaked Family Affair (ALBUM REVIEW)
['Shawn Donohue']
Glide Magazine
Expansive and luxurious, focused on interlocking, ardent vocals, the trio of Kucha, Zeimani, and BG makes a strong career opening statement with these eleven efforts. The trio work best when all take turns singing lead and harmonizing, such as on the head bopping opener “Chauffeur”, grounding things with a great brass, strings, and drums as the Sisters sound fantastic, using driving analogies for love and heartbreak. The united front of The Womack Sisters, with excellent support from Daptone’s soul sound, has crafted a stirring first full-length effort.
