The Lincoln County Commission on Tuesday, Aug. 11, voted 4-0 to appoint two commissioners plus a layperson to the advisory board, to be joined by two other attorneys. The advisory board is tasked with hiring and dismissing public defenders in Lincoln County, and can make recommendations regarding salary and budget to the county commission. Arends said he hopes to see the advisory board use the commission chambers as a meeting space, and leave its meetings open to the public — possibly even streamed on the county’s YouTube channel, too.
