Since its inception three months ago, the new medical service has already brought hope to about eight childless families, according to MNH Acting Executive Director, Dr Rachel Mhaville. “Introducing affordable ART services is the only true hope for the majority of Tanzanians struggling with involuntary childlessness, as IVF costs are typically only affordable to the wealthy,” Dr Mhaville noted. She highlighted that at MNH, a couple can access ART services for up to 14 million/-, while similar services abroad cost significantly more.
