KENLY, N.C. – A Kenly woman wanted by Benson Police for allegedly striking and dragging a man with a vehicle was arrested Aug. 8, and deputies said they found nearly 60 grams of suspected methamphetamine during her arrest. Deputies had gone to a residence in the 7100 block of Old Beulah Road near Kenly while attempting to locate Sawyer-Hancock on a Benson Police Department warrant charging her with felony assault with a deadly weapon. Sawyer-Hancock was subsequently charged with felony possession with intent to manufacture, sell or deliver methamphetamine.
