MÉRIDA, Yucatán — The Animaya Water Park has opened its recreational spaces to welcome local families and tourists looking to enjoy outdoor activities during the current summer vacation season, the Mérida City Council announced. The designated aquatic section operates from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., featuring interactive water jets shaped like dragon heads, barrels, and showers, alongside a wading pool, lounge chairs, restrooms, changing rooms, and naturally shaded seating areas. Located on Calle 60 in the Ciudad Caucel neighborhood, admission to the zoo is free of charge, with operating hours running Tuesday through Sunday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Municipal authorities recommend that children under 12 wear proper beachwear when accessing the fountains and pools.
