A raccoon that may have come in contact with a dog in the 2100 block of Raymond Avenue (near Woodman Road and Lydell Drive) in Henrico County Aug. 8 has tested positive for rabies, becoming the eighth confirmed case in the county this year. Henrico Police Animal Protection Unit officials are reminding the public to keep their pets’ rabies vaccinations current to ensure their safety and that of the community. Henrico County offers rabies vaccination clinics twice a year, and the next will take place Saturday, Oct. 17, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Western Henrico Government Center, 4301 East Parham Road.
