SANFORD, N.C. (WTVD) -- UPDATE: The boil water advisory for some Sanford residents issued on Monday remains in effect after a failed coliform bacteria test on Wednesday. Because of that, TriRiver Water is leaving the boil water advisory in place for now and continuing to flush the system. TriRiver Water is flushing the system and continuing to test for E. coli and total coliform bacteria.
