Campaigners are urging the Government to revive a National Play Strategy last seen almost two decades ago, to help support children in Worksop after new research has found that children are being held back from active play by screen time and a lack of safe spaces to play. The Play Their Way research released for Playday found that 49 per ce3n of children aged eight-16 want to spend more time playing active games for fun, while 72 per cent of parents believe children generally spend too little time engaged in active play. Play Their Way, a national movement to transform the way children are coached in sport and physical activity through child-first coaching, and Play England, England’s national charity for play, have called on Prime Minister Andy Burnham to finish work he began.
