The 81-year-old singer pulled the plug on a performance in Cincinnati on 9 August just hours before he was due on stage in order to undergo a "minor medical procedure" to address a health issue which "required prompt attention", and it was announced on Tuesday (11.08.26) that he was pulling out of all his upcoming concerts after having a routine coronary stent procedure. But he faced a backlash after he was spotted attending a soccer game during the 2026 FIFA World Cup just a day after cancelling a concert in California due to ill health.
