Morgan contacted Pat McKee of McKee Homes because of the company’s experience building 55-and-older communities in central and eastern North Carolina. McKee, Morgan, Gordon and Lyon walked the Buffalo Road property before McKee developed preliminary plans. McKee said development would begin with the creation of a project LLC that would purchase the land and hire the general contractor, which would be McKee Homes.
