Fashion Outlets of Chicago reverses pay-to-park policy at suburban mall
['Izzy Stroobandt']
NBC Chicago
The popular Rosemont mall walked back the paid parking program rolled out earlier this year and starting Wednesday began offering free parking for the first three hours to all guests, no purchase or validation required, a representative of Macerich, the mall's owner, said in a statement sent to NBC Chicago. Previously, the first hour was free, but after that, daily parking rates range from $13 for one to three hours; $20 for three to 12 hours and $50 for 12 to 24 hours. Oakbrook Center Mall introduced some paid priority parking spots earlier this year, though the majority of the mall parking remains free and the rates start at $3 per hour.
