Montana’s restaurant scene is changing, and for locals who have been living in the state for years, it's difficult to see their favorite neighborhood gathering spots closing down. This year brought a wave of bittersweet farewells to institutions that helped define the state's character. In Whitefish, the beloved Wasabi Sushi Bar and Ginger Grill announced an abrupt and permanent closure following a tragedy within the Wasabi family. The restaurant was open for over 25 years, and helped shape the local food scene in Whitefish. (Note: The restaurant is entirely separate from the Wasabi location in Bozeman.)
