Until the early 1850s, Haute-Yamaska was predominantly inhabited by an English-speaking population. Expertise built on nearly 60 years of historyTo carry out this research, SHHY draws on nearly 60 years of experience in preserving and promoting the region’s heritage. Founded in 1967, the Société d’histoire de la Haute-Yamaska is dedicated to promoting and sharing the history of the region. To fulfill this mission, it acquires, preserves, and showcases archival records that bear witness to the collective memory of Haute-Yamaska.
