The 11-track collection blends UK bass, grime, UK funky and global club music – it’s an exhilarating dance record but also a deeply personal retelling of identity, resilience and belonging. For Ahad, calling his album ‘P ★ K I’ is about a celebration of club culture, accessible and authentic to his cross-cultural upbringing. The producer reclaims a word that has often been used as a slur of pejorative, into something meant to be embodied and embraced.
