“We have tried to make our doors as wide open as possible,” Gen. Michael Guetlein, who leads the Golden Dome program, said Aug. 11 during a fireside discussion. Golden Dome envisions a layered network of sensors, command-and-control systems and interceptors designed to defend the United States against ballistic, cruise and hypersonic missiles and other aerial threats. “There is now a website you can go to to do business with Golden Dome,” Guetlein said. Data integration has emerged as one of the central technical challenges for Golden Dome. Several prime contractors have already assembled teams that pair established defense companies with commercial space firms.
