MARSHFIELD, WI (OnFocus) – Marshfield officials are taking more time to review a proposed ordinance regulating camping on public property rather than immediately advancing a measure modeled on another Wisconsin community.
City Administrator Steve Barg told the Common Council Tuesday the issue remains under consideration but will return at a later date after additional review.
The council had directed staff July 28 to develop a camping ordinance using Fond du Lac’s ordinance as a framework.
Barg told council members staff will continue examining the issue before bringing it back for consideration.
The decision leaves Marshfield’s existing rules unchanged while officials continue considering whether additional regulations are warranted and what form they should take.
