Family of Japanese influencer who died by suicide says cyberbullying brought ‘end to her life’SOUTH KOREA (TR) – The family of a 25-year-old Japanese influencer and former top-earning hostess residing in Seoul who died earlier this month by suicide during a TikTok livestream says the tragedy was due to relentless cyberbullying. The influencer, who went by the name “Mina,” passed away on August 5. More recently, she was known online as a devoted “Ni-ki pen”—a hardcore fan of Ni-ki, the 20-year-old sole Japanese member of the popular K-pop boy band ENHYPEN. On August 7, a fake apology letter falsely attributed to Ni-ki began circulating on social media. “Our daughter was deeply hurt by critical posts on social media, which caused her to deny her own will to live and bring an end to her life,” the family wrote.
