BTO Solicitors has appointed Alan Gilfillan, an experienced corporate lawyer and accredited charity law specialist, as a partner in its corporate team. Alan brings more than 15 years’ experience in corporate and charity law and is one of only seven lawyers in Scotland accredited by the Law Society of Scotland as a specialist in charity law. He advises charities and trustees on matters including charity formation, good governance, reorganisation and incorporation, concerns about solvency, misconduct and trustee liability, OSCR inquiries and investigations, and disputes involving charity trustees, employees and external parties.
