Rezaei conveyed his appreciation for the trust bestowed upon him by the Leader and acknowledged the backing provided by President Masoud Pezeshkian. In a decree issued on Sunday, Ayatollah Khamenei officially appointed Rezaei as his representative to the Supreme National Security Council (SNSC), which serves as Iran’s premier national security decision-making entity. He stressed that national security decisions should be made with enhanced strength, an accurate comprehension of the situation, and a balance of prudence and courage. He was a prominent military leader during the Iran-Iraq War that spanned the 1980s. He further asserted that Iran requires greater trust, enhanced national cohesion, and prudent decision-making to navigate through the existing challenges.
