Past and present members of staff at the Oxford Mail and The Oxford Times took their own trip down memory lane by holding a reunion. There was much talk about the days when Newspaper House was in New Inn Hall Street, at the corner of Shoe Lane. After editing, the paper sheets would be delivered to the composing room, where printing staff set to work and readers would finally get their copies of the paper. When Newspaper House closed and the move to Osney Mead was imminent in the early 1970s, an eye-catching story was needed to tell readers of the change. The picture caused much amusement among readers and photographer Athar Chaudhry laughed so much he nearly fell in the river himself.
