Spartz announced in a news release Company D (Ranger), 151st Infantry Regiment will receive the Presidential Unit Citation for its service between December 1968 and November 1969. The unit was the only Army National Guard ground maneuver unit to serve in Southeast Asia during the Vietnam War. The Presidential Unit Citation is the highest military decoration awarded to a unit for extraordinary heroism in combat. The Presidential Unit Citation is a testament to their grit, their sacrifice, and a legacy that will never be forgotten.”
