A three-year lease and operating agreement has been approved by council to formalize the Laurentian Ski Hill and Snowboarding Club’s operation of the hill. “This agreement provides stability for Laurentian Ski Hill and a clear framework for the City and the Club moving forward,” said Mayor Peter Chirico. “Laurentian Ski Hill is an important recreational asset for North Bay and the region. “Our team at the Laurentian Ski Hill and Snowboarding Club is thrilled to continue providing exceptional skiing, snowboarding, and on-hill recreational activities to the people of North Bay,” says Duncan Cornthwaite, Executive Director. Earlier this year, the city bought about 50 hectares of land from the North Bay-Mattawa Conservation Authority, including the ski hill and related buildings and facilities.
