Odisha Vigilance on Wednesday arrested Brahmapur Chief District Agriculture Officer (CDAO) Byomkesh Mishra for allegedly demanding and accepting a ₹15,000 bribe from a beneficiary to process a subsidy-related file under the Mukhya Mantri Krushi Udyog Yojana (MKUY). CDAO allegedly demanded ₹15,000 bribeAs per the Vigilance statement, the beneficiary had been approaching Mishra for nearly two months to get the file processed. Vigilance alleged that Mishra subsequently demanded ₹15,000 from the beneficiary for processing the file and facilitating the release of the subsidy.
