Over August 8 and August 9, two Herefordshire farmers faced an incredible challenge- The Shear Ride- a 24-hour shearing marathon powered by pedals to raise money for Birmingham Children's Hospital and The Ronald McDonald House.
Jamie Bevan said that just one day after his daughter was born, she became critically ill and was rushed to Birmingham Children's Hospital, where she received emergency surgery that saved her life.
Mr Thornley's daughter, Nancy, had a nine-night stay in Birmingham Children's Hospital, and received "exceptional care" from the specialists, doctors, and nurses when she received intravenous antibiotics around the clock.
"The care she received was second to none, we are eternally grateful to Birmingham Children's Hospital for their fast actions."
As it stands, they have raised a whopping £8,746 pounds for Birmingham Children’s Hospital and Ronald McDonald House Charities.
