The Embassy of the Dominican Republic in Brazil and the Getulio Vargas Foundation (FGV) signed a Memorandum of Understanding to promote joint research, technical studies, seminars, and publications on issues of mutual interest.
The agreement, signed at FGV headquarters in Rio de Janeiro, seeks to generate information to identify new trade, investment, and cooperation opportunities between the Dominican Republic and Brazil.
Dominican Ambassador to Brazil Robert Takata highlighted the potential to strengthen economic ties amid changes in global trade routes and supply chains.
Takata also emphasized the Dominican Republic’s role as a gateway to the U.S. market through DR-CAFTA, saying joint research could help identify areas with potential to expand bilateral commerce.
The Dominican Embassy also committed to facilitating access to statistics, documents, and relevant contacts in the Dominican Republic to support the research.
