Video footage taken by Jordan Collins, who had been night fishing in the area, shows a section below the walkway was alight. She said: "This was undoubtedly caused by carelessness of a customer ignoring the no smoking on the pier rule and dropping a still-lit cigarette. "Fortunately we have a team always on standby for this and the flames were extinguished quickly.
