Eurovision Song Contest organisers announce major rule change for 2027

Organisers have said the “winning broadcaster will automatically be ineligible to host” the competition if their state is involved in an “armed conflict” or “sensitive geopolitical situation”.
Traditionally, Eurovision is hosted by the broadcaster from the previous year’s winning country, provided that the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) requests it.

The 2027 Eurovision Song Contest will be held in Bulgaria after singer Dara won this year’s event in Vienna, Austria, in May.
