Over the past three decades, Malaysia has deliberately transformed its education sector into a global export industry by positioning itself as an international education hub. Our education sector, once regarded as one of the strongest in Africa during the 1960s and 1970s, now faces numerous challenges. Colonial education systems were largely designed to produce clerks and administrators for imperial bureaucracies. Think about turning Nigerian education into an economic sector and redeeming the popular image and believe that “school na scam”. But if bold reforms are undertaken, the education sector could become one of Nigeria’s most powerful engines of national transformation.
