Rise of agentic commerce may change retail space

Lorenzo Capinpin, senior solutions engineer at Salesforce, said the agentic commerce evolution is not merely a technological upgrade but a $3-trillion opportunity for the global retail sector by 2030.
As 21% of shoppers already start product searches with AI, the traditional retail model is evolving, Mr. Capinpin said, but while some processes will be inevitably replaced by machines, humans will remain indispensable.
“Humans will not be replaced but will need to find their value in this new reality.
It’s about making AI agents and humans enable customer success together.”
This comes as Filipino consumers are increasingly using generative AI as a primary channel for information, challenging traditional search engines, according to consumer intelligence company Meltwater.
