Higher realized gold and silver prices added about P1.60 billion to second-quarter revenue, while foreign exchange movements contributed another P538.95 million. At the Maco Gold Mine in Maco, Davao de Oro, the company milled 277,284 metric tons of ore during the second quarter, up 20% from 231,706 metric tons a year earlier. At the Sangilo Mine in Itogon, Benguet, milled ore rose 14% to 41,499 metric tons from 36,389 metric tons. Realized gold prices jumped 49% to $4,656 per ounce, while realized silver prices climbed 134% to $77.67 per ounce. Apex Mining is modifying the Maco processing plant’s crushing and grinding infrastructure to raise capacity to 3,500 metric tons per day.
