The out-of-control blaze was last mapped at 147,677 hectares on Tuesday, with its southern tip about 20 kilometres north of Cache Creek. It was discovered on July 17 west of Clinton near Edge Hills Provincial Park. The potentially helpful weather follows an unsettled start to the week that brought sharply different conditions across the sprawling Big Bar wildfire complex, which includes the Pear Lake fire. Firefighters have also been working containment lines on the southeast flank, while aggressive fire activity has continued around Jesmond.
