Energy minister says John Swinney ‘right’ to ask Andy Burnham to review veto of £1.5bn deal

Scottish energy minister Stephen Gethins said it is “right for us to push the UK government” over Ming Yang after the First Minister called on the Prime Minister to reconsider the veto on the £1.5 billion Ardersier bid.
The news comes during a visit today by the Scottish Government energy minister Stephen Gethins to the leading deepwater port which is part of the Inverness and Cromarty Firth Green Freeport.
“On the question of Ming Yang, I think the First Minister is right to ask the Prime Minister to reconsider that veto that the UK government used,” Mr Gethins said.
