In March, Trump issued an executive order that would require states to compile lists of eligible voters based on information from his own administration. “The cheating on mail-in voting is legendary,” Trump said during a signing ceremony at the White House earlier this year. Trump has already asked the nation’s high court for help after a federal appeals court upheld a separate decision that warned his executive order will likely disenfranchise “many eligible voters.” Even a Trump appointee on that three-judge panel agreed that the president’s order could impose “concrete injury” to legal voting.
