Nearly two-thirds of Berlin clubs are only breaking even, according to a new study from Berlin nightlife advocacy group, Clubcommission. The report found that, despite full dancefloors and strong ticket sales, 61% of Berlin’s clubs are currently only breaking even, down from 79% in 2017, while the remainder are operating at a loss. Berlin's club culture is unique worldwide and a valuable asset to our city. In 2017, food and drink sales accounted for 60% of clubs’ revenue, while entry fees and ticket sales made up 21%. The findings come amid continued concern over the future of Berlin’s club scene, with several venues closing or facing uncertain futures in recent years.
