✕Photo © Jason O' RearSeven years after the death of César Pelli, his firm Pelli Clarke & Partners has completed the late architect’s last project, the Lola Mora Cultural Center. Fittingly, the museum is located in the northwest corner of Argentina, not far from where Pelli was born. The form of the museum is meant to evoke the shape of a wide chisel used for carving marble. A long, narrow entrance hall, which bridges over a small ravine, flares out to accommodate a lobby and exhibition space. In the column-free peripheral gallery, a floor-to-ceiling all-glass facade allows the sculptures to be viewed against a backdrop of greenery.
